How Derrick verifies doctors
A doctor appears on Derrick Gyno Hub only after passing a 5-step check of their medical council registration, qualifications, identity and clinic. Verification confirms who a doctor is and where they practise. It is not a rating of clinical skill.
1The five checks
- Medical council check. The doctor's registration number is cross-checked against the medical council register.
- Degree validation. Degree and post-graduate certificates are reviewed.
- Identity verification. A government photo ID is matched against the registration record.
- Clinic address audit. The practice address and timings are confirmed by a call-back to the clinic.
- Continuous monitoring. Profiles are re-checked periodically, and anything stale is unpublished.
2When a profile goes live
- A doctor's profile is not visible to patients, and the doctor cannot sign in, until the 5-step verification is complete and a Derrick administrator approves it.
- Doctors must be qualified medical practitioners with a valid registration, and everything they submit must be true and their own.
- Forged or altered documents mean permanent removal, and may be reported to the relevant council.
3Keeping profiles current
- Doctors are responsible for keeping timings, availability and contact details up to date. Stale profiles are unpublished.
- A listing can be suspended or removed for verification failures, complaints, or conduct that puts patients at risk.
4What verification means — and what it does not
Verification confirms that a doctor is registered, holds the qualifications claimed, is who they say they are, and practises where they say they do. It is not an assessment of clinical skill, and it is not a recommendation of one doctor over another. Use your own judgement in choosing who to see.
5Listing fees and search order
No. Doctors may pay a listing fee, but it does not affect verification, search order or which doctor Derrick suggests to a patient.
