1What Derrick is

Derrick is a medical search engine and introduction service. We verify that a listed doctor is real and registered, and we pass your enquiry to them. The medical relationship is between you and that doctor. We are not a party to it, we are not present at the consultation, and we do not supervise clinical decisions.

2Free for patients — always

• Searching, comparing, sending an enquiry, asking a question and requesting an appointment are free. There is no fee at any point.
• We will never ask a patient for card or bank details. If anyone claiming to be Derrick does, it is not us — tell us at once.
• Any fee for the consultation itself is between you and the doctor or clinic, and is charged by them, not by us.

3Using Derrick as a patient

• Give accurate details. A wrong phone number means a doctor cannot reach you.
• An appointment request is a request, not a confirmed booking, until the doctor accepts it.
• Community questions are published publicly. Do not post anything identifying you or anyone else.
• Reviews may only be left after a completed appointment, must be your own honest experience, and must not be abusive or defamatory. We remove reviews that break this.
• Do not misuse the service — no fake enquiries, no automated scraping, no attempts to break security or reach another person's account.

4Using Derrick as a doctor

• You must be a qualified medical practitioner with a valid registration with an Indian medical council, and everything you submit must be true and yours.
• Your profile is not visible and you cannot sign in until the 5-step verification is complete and a super administrator approves you.
• Submitting forged or altered documents means permanent removal, and may be reported to the relevant council.
• Keep your listing current — timings, availability and contact details. Stale profiles are unpublished.
• Respond to enquiries and requests in reasonable time. Patients are never charged to reach you.
• Answers you post in the community are published under your name and qualification. Give general guidance only, never a diagnosis, and say when someone should be seen in person.
• We may suspend or remove a listing for verification failures, complaints, or conduct that puts patients at risk.

5Listing fees and invoices

• Doctors may be charged a listing fee. Only Derrick's super administrator raises an invoice, and only to a doctor. Patients are never invoiced.
• A listing fee buys a listing and nothing else. It does not affect verification, search ranking, or which doctor we suggest to a patient.
• Invoices appear in the doctor's dashboard with their amount, issue date and due date.

6Verification — what it does and does not mean

Verification confirms that a doctor is registered, holds the qualifications claimed, is who they say they are, and practises where they say they do. It is not an assessment of clinical skill, and it is not a recommendation over any other doctor. Use your own judgement in choosing who to see.

7Content and reviews

You keep ownership of what you write, and give us permission to display it on Derrick. We may remove anything unlawful, abusive, misleading, or that identifies a patient. Doctor profile content is the doctor's responsibility; questions and reviews are the author's.

8Availability

We aim to keep Derrick running, but we do not promise it is always available or free of faults. We may change or withdraw features. If a doctor is unreachable through the site, contact their clinic directly.

9Liability

To the extent the law allows, Derrick is not liable for the medical advice, treatment or conduct of any doctor found through the service, for a missed or cancelled appointment, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

10Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: minimal collection, hashed credentials, private documents, and we never sell your data.

11Suspending accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, submits false information, or puts patients at risk. You may close your account at any time by writing to us.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
